Deer & Wildlife Industry Gears Up for ‘Show Season’
While the SHOT Show, Safari Club International and the Dallas Safari Club convention grab most of the headlines in January, sportsmen and outdoor industry businesses should also circle their calendars for a few other annual conventions this spring.
The 43rd Annual Exotic Wildlife Association Membership Meeting will bring together hundreds of wildlife game ranchers to expand the conservation of indigenous and non-indigenous hoofstock animals, and to help develop and strengthen the markets for their animals. The event will be held March 12, 2010 and March 13, 2010 at the Inn of the Hills Resort and Conference Center in Kerrville, Texas.
Seminars will feature industry experts in the fields of animal nutrition, game fencing, buying/selling animals, chemical immobilization, transportation and capture facilities, and tropaeology, the science that creates a universal standard on which to base the evaluation and measurement of game trophies. The event will also feature exhibitors from throughout the industry and exciting fund-raiser auctions.
For more information on the EWA and/or to register for the EWA Membership Meeting, contact the EWA office at 830.367.7761.
Also in March, deer farmers across the country will converge on Toledo, Ohio, for the 21st Annual North American Deer Farmers Association (NADeFA) Conference. This event will take place March 18-20, 2010, and NADeFA expects more than 1,000 attendees from across the country, as well as from Canada and Mexico.
The conference will be filled with more than 250 exhibitors and service vendors from all over North America. Also at the NADeFA Conference, the Cervid Livestock Foundation will sponsor the Third Annual Venison Culinary Competition along with the annual Venison/Elk Product Competition. For more information and to sign up for the NADeFA Conference, call 651-345-5600 or visit www.nadefa.org.
