Record Buck? Eau Claire Archer Bags Notable Whitetail Deer
By Julian Emerson of Eau Claire Leader-Telegram
The hunting blogs are buzzing with news that first-time Wisconsin bowhunter Bob Decker of Eau Claire killed a whitetail Saturday that could out-score the world record bow-killed, 204 4/8 deer taken in 1964 by Mel Johnson in Peoria County, Ill. The big deer, sporting 14 points and two sticker-points, is believed to be the same animal that was videoed in Buffalo County earlier this summer, gaining national attention after the footage was posted on the Field & Stream magazine Web site.
